For Tallulah Wilson

Tallulah,

Who were you?

Behind public school girl scene

Behind pretty thin prom queen

Not even turned sixteen-

Yet dead on a rail track

All over media news feed.

Oh but sweet Tallulah

Just who could you of been?

What secrets did you swollow?

What whispers did you keep?

The ones that say theres no tomorrow

Only endless black, and sorrow.

Yes I saw, Tallulah-

You hid behind your eyes;

They were always telling stories;

Never really telling lies’

But when your mother had to ask you

I know-

You had to say

‘’I’m fine.’’

Spinning tales of misery

When your misery

was enough

It's written on your face

and your wrist

Rest easy, Tallulah

This was a terrible story that could have been prevented...I just can't imagine knowing my child was out of control and doing nothing about it. You wrote a beautiful poem.
