The story plays out different but it ends all in the same,
a emotion of the highest devotion leading our shame.
Never again will that word grace my lips,
Never again will that word plague my heart.
So take the picture so it lasts forever,
So take the picture,
Before time burns the edges of this false memory away.
(Chorus)
Now that I'm gone, you'll see things so clearly,
holding onto these memories so dearly.
Now that I'm gone you'll understand why,
Now that I'm gone you'll understand why,
I left you alone to cry.
verse 2
Your holding the picture,
holding onto something that was never real.
I'm holding the matches,
holding the cure to the cancer.
These memories need be forgotten,
We never were anything real,
so why does this hurt so much?
