Dances in the air

Folder:
Redamo

It catches in my throat and shatters on my teeth
The swirling lights you leave behind
Logarithmic dances in the air I breathe
And I breathe
you in
Swallow you
Catching in my tongue again
Your glow not soft or warm but searing violence
Shouting but silent…

Flames
Flicker in and out,
Glitter to the ground,
Falling as I will fall
So very hard
to crack every rib
Push aside the muscles
Pry at the skin
Hold out my heart to you
That's me, pounding
Always warm and wet now in your hands
That's me, pounding.

I really like this,

I really like this, especially the final stanza. Very gripping and rythmatic.

"It is a terrible thing to be so open. It is as if my heart put on a face and walked into the world" -- Sylvia Plath.
