What do you call idiots
in white sheets ? I like to
call them ghost with hidden
faces
Chasing chocolate angels
around burning crosses on
their lawns
almost like God wanted his
creations to hang from trees
I've always wondered as a twenty
two year old not born from them
times
why ,we was victims of murderous
crimes
wacthing movies reading stories on
survivors like rosa parks who fought
for there rights to sit in the front of
the bus
A question lingers on my mind , what
was it about our brown skin that made
us different
if your going to be bold enough to
kill ,then be bold enough to show
your cowardly faces
I'm amazed how we kept hope and
prayed when they bomb and tried to
take away our faith
we kept our heads up even though they
pushed us down
Look at us now powerful black folks with
the will power to carry on
we may see fools dressing as clowns
but that only made us stronger then
weak
I mean ..atleast were not the idiots in white
sheets
i wonder about this sometimes too. this is a nice poem to honor black history month.
Very nice poem. Very original, not a bit of cliche' in this one. It is a subject many have wirtten on but you have managed to remain both original and emotional. Very good read. ~Rae
I dislike racists too... We are all the same no matter what color you are. Sad how we go back in history and see the horrors... But I know I'm not an idiot in a white sheet! Very detailed and full of emotion. Nice!
Off the chains! And very creative. Much respect.
