Monday morning, mother’s talking on the phone
Who is she talking to in whispers
I guess no one will know.
Send the children off to school
To sit with a glass of wine
Pop’s a dozen pills
Hopes for a cheap thrill
As she leaves her home behind-
The world is all she finds.
The nurse is smoking a cigarette
As she tells the patient’s to quit
A man is posing as the needy
Though he knows that he’s not it
A girl just barely twelve
Is skipping school, to take another hit
Who are we to judge
Are we such hypocrites.
We all stare
But no one says nothing
Silently we’re all thinking something
Looking down
And turn around- as they pass by
Take a picture, it lasts longer
Gossip thoughts won’t make us stronger
Who are we to judge what’s on
There minds.
Yeah.
Evening the very same day, mother puts her kids to sleep
Says no to another story
And her youngest starts to weep
Turns out the lights, and answers the door
To a man she doesn’t know
The forth that week
But living ain’t cheap
And it’s another sleepless night-
It’s all a constant fight.
The priest is preaching ‘bout the hell
That he knows he’ll end up in
The teachers failing all the students
In a class that she failed in
An AA advocate is drinking
‘Cause he feels like he can’t win
who are we to judge
are we perfect, devoid of sin.
We all stare
But no one says nothing
Silently we’re all thinking something
Looking down
And turn around- as they pass by
Take a picture, it lasts longer
Gossip thoughts won’t make us stronger
Who are we to judge what’s on
There minds.
A little too wrong
A little to late
Lacking morals
Filled with hate
How can you judge
What you’re seeing
How can you tell them
What they’re needing-
You can’t.
We all stare
But no one says nothing
Silently we’re all thinking something
Looking down
And turn around- as they pass by
Take a picture, it lasts longer
Gossip thoughts won’t make us stronger
Who are we to judge what’s on
There minds.
We all stare
But no one says nothing
Silently we’re all thinking something
Looking down
And turn around- as they pass by
Take a picture, it lasts longer
Gossip thoughts won’t make us stronger
Who are we to judge what’s on
There minds.
Who are we to judge them
We can’t
Who are we to judge.
i like the refrain or what ever you call it
"The nurse is smoking a cigarette
As she tells the patient’s to quit
A man is posing as the needy
Though he knows that he’s not it
A girl just barely twelve
Is skipping school, to take another hit
Who are we to judge
Are we such hypocrites."
"The priest is preaching ‘bout the hell
That he knows he’ll end up in
The teachers failing all the students
In a class that she failed in
An AA advocate is drinking
‘Cause he feels like he can’t win
who are we to judge
are we perfect, devoid of sin."
