I never thought i'd hear the words
that I finally do hear
I always thought i'd give a damn
but i'm to busy with these tears.
Those words spoken so softly
were damnation to my heart
and lately i've been finding
that it's tearing me apart.
Because I know that I still care
and too hear this all from you
is a pain I never thought i'd see
when you know what i've been through.
You wonder how i'm feeling
I think it should be clear
that I don't know how this happened
but i'm finding that I fear.
Not simply for the love we share
but the truth that we may find
that we weren't meant to be together
and that we've truely lost our minds.
So next time you say you love me
please make sure that it's for real
