This is such a weary feeling

sitting here out in the night

while the shadows stand here watching

streetlights bathe the streets in white.

The tree's twisting and curling

raising up into the black

this feeling is unnerving

like the compassion people lack.

This night does feel so lonely

I do so much wish someone was here

someone to keep me company

to stop these random tears.

But the night is still alone and dark

and I do not know my way

I close my eyes and drift to sleep

to dream of other days.
