Rays of sunlight stroke my face

light surpasses all of time

but shadows spawn from sunlights woe

idealize these thoughts of mine.



Light reflects my shattered glass

and pierces through the dark

but is soon consumed in blackness

nothing but a fading mark.



Ray's wash over me content

in knowing I am safe

though I see deep down i'm hiding

though I try hard to keep faith.



The shadows all around me

surround and shut light out

for the first time in so very long

my ligh I start to doubt.



A shadowed fear engulfs my mind

and threatens half-gone sight

I wonder how i'll make it through

this neverending night.
