Inner Self

You once needed me

To dust you off

When you fell

Tell you things would workout

When you didn’t know what to do

Cover your back

When you went too far

Now you say you don’t need me

You pushed me aside

Locked me away

And built a wall

For me to stay

Locked away

Years have gone by

You have done well

Without my aid

I can feel you

Beginning to weaken

As they strike you down

Beating and laughing

Blood spilling

You start to cry

For my help

So now you call upon me

In your desperate hour

Of need

For me to once again

Protect you from harm

To lash out

In a mystical fiery rage

At the ones who have

Forsaken you

The ones tearing at

The skin fleshed

Colored wall

Too weak to handle the pressure

It crumbles to the ground

As blood starts to flow

Like red rivers

Of a map

The wall has fallen

I’m now free

Your dreams

Your fears

Will now come true

I will take care of these simple fools

Not in the way you would have me

But in the way I desire

Bent on Hell’s fire

Mended with metal of torture

Soothed with screaming souls

Was my trusty blade made

Powered by vengeance

Willed by hate

I slash my mighty sword

When the dust has settled

The fog subsided

And eyes over taken

With hate have cleared

I see the destruction

Struck down by my vengeance

Lie the ones I love

And hold dear

I have brought fourth

Only my own devastation
