You say that your problems

Are your problems alone

That is where you are wrong

You are my friend

My lover

You ask how can the things

That happen to you

Hurt me as well

They don’t hurt in the same way

But to see the tears form in your eyes

Hear the fear in your voice

The way you sometimes flinch

When I put my hand to your face

That is what makes me feel your pain

And puts a clamp on my heart

When I see you this way

And knowing that the scars

They put on your heart and soul

I can not take away

But know this

I will try
