Truly

Do you love me truly
do you only mouth the words

are your promises all empty
while your conscience remains clear-
do you think that this is ending
do you wish that it were so
are you leaving in the morning
while I sit and watch you go.

Do I love you truly
do I have the strength to bear
all the bitterness and fighting
while your half way out the door-
do I think that this is ending
I never thought i'd wish it so
am I hoping for a reason
not to ever let you go.

Can we hold love truly
can we learn from our mistakes
will the pain and anger lessen
as we stand as one, complete-
can we stop this all from ending
as in sickness or in health
are we worthy of forever
without squandering it's wealth.

Do you love me truly
do you sense the love i feel
are these moments dissipating
while recalling what rings true-
do we count this life in moments
do we make them count as more
are we leaving in the morning
loving more truly then before.

well now don't go asking any tough questions...

there are so many confused emotions in this. I feel like the entire poem cruxes on the notion of truth and what is it really? All the question the poet asks revolve aroudn this truly, truly love, truly leaving, truly value stuff etc etc, and its like the questions lead to more questions because its the very notion of truth which is ambiguois and actually in question. Like the rest of the things (do you love me, do i love you etc etc) they are just symptom questions, ones that arise in the mess of what is truly...

fuckin loved these lines

"do we count this life in moments

do we make them count as more"

Much Love
