The best thing that I ever wrote

is probably the story I never told.

Not the story of this guy or that girl.

Or what he did to me

and what she never admitted.

Not the fact that I'm a victim.

Because we're all victims

of something...someone.

Maybe the best story is of this girl.

A girl who was born with empathy so strong

that her stuffed animals' pains could

tear her eyes.

A girl whose heart was so sweet

that the world should have loved her.

Because she loved them.

We know that isn't what happened though.

The world taught her pain and loss.

Everytime she should've heard, "I love you,"

or "You're beautiful,"

she heard "That doesn't make sense,"

"you're ugly,"

or silence...

Maybe the silence was the worst.



As she grew

she learned many things.

Mostly hard lessons.

You'd think this would have jaded her,

made her cold and hard.

But it didn't.

Or it did, but not how you'd think.

As a woman,

she feels more than anything and writes so very well.

She treasures love and believes it is the answer to everything.

But she has a place which is hard with in her.

It makes her ashamed of her feelings at times.

And tells her love never stays.

When they call her, "Beautiful",

the place never lets her fully except it.

This is the story I never told.

And I know that it looks like a "vicitim story".

But you see, it isn't quite done.

This girl, who turned into this woman,

has more than enough reason to call herself a victim.

And don't get me wrong, she has, plenty of times.

But she never wears the tag for long...

She doesn't call herself a vicitim

Instead she claims experience.
