Kiss The Feet

Kiss the feet of your enemy my dear,

Its value weighs more than your war.

Do not underestimate the pain my love,

Better to nurse a wound than a scar.

Don’t frown on duty that governs your steps

You needn’t bear their anguish.

Hold firm to the word that keeps you alive

Let not its burden vanish.

Heap misery on misery to lighten your steps

And burn the pile to guide your eyes.

Now run. Don’t stop for hesitation,

Leave the life that you despise.

Gather the cloth from one man’s labour,

And swaddle yourself within it.

Bask in the presence of such fine material,

And thank the one who bestowed it.

Now kiss the cheek of your friend my dear,

The pain that they once bore.

And kneel to see the feet my love,

The feet you once loathed to kiss before.

Ghandi

Reminds me of Ghandi.  He actually felt he could defeat Hitler with passive resistence.  I don't think he could have, but it's an interesting thought.

Wow

I think this poem is fantastic. Probably more than I could say in that number of words. Laughing

Bravo

Wars on many levels could be ended if humility ruled negotiations. Well said. ~A~
