What do I have to do?

What do I have to do for you to love?

An image exists among the ravish freedom

Glimpses appear but no structure to build on

Birthed with your gifts and a sharing of the last one

Which will present to you love and not rest till it is done.

What do I have to do to keep you hopeful?

Breathe so that you may live

Sleep so that you may wake

But understand

It is I who gives

And I who will take

What do I have to do for you to believe me?

Crippled by your own works

Drifting further than the eye can see

But I see

What do I have to do for you to accept your worth?

You had it in abundance before your birth

And as you grow that value will not change

From the first sight of this world, to the last of your age

So be true to yourself and I who cares for you

Sharing love and hope so others can accept

I’ve done what I had to do,

I loved the world so I paid your debt.

Just Stunning..............

I never tire of reading poems about God and or Jesus. Anyone who depicts God as angry and vengeful misses sight of him entirely. Without God there would be no love at all in the world. All good things come from him and he sent Jesus to reconcile us with himself. Not to condemn like so many seem to believe. Your poem moved me so. So many people in their narrow minded views of religion fail to feel the astronomical love behind all that he does for us. Bless you in all your sincerity for trying to make them remember that love. A so very gracefully moved, Melissa.

Thank You

I'm glad that came across. You're right, there is a reason why so many believe and it it is not because of the herrendous acts that some humans carry out. Faith is worth more than given credit for. It's nice to see people still appreciate this medium.

Magnificent Write

"...and I who care for you..." - It's as if you are talking things over with your self - nice implied dialogue - excellent weave of emotions and the empathy is in tact sweetly - Lady A
