One step,
That's all you need
One step
To fall in the abyss
To live in the shadows of the forgotten
To die a mediocre death
One step and no circumvention from it
No matter how much gold borders the edge,
No matter how much fame holds you in place.
One step it is all it takes,
Subsistence is daily,
Your utopia is death,
And your inferno is life.
One step,
Itβs all it takes,
One,
Single,
step.
Author's Notes/Comments:
This poem is meant to resemble the reality that no matter how rich and famous you are you are always one step from being homeless no matter who you are. This is meant to raise attention to the fact that homless people and us are one in the same; that the reason they are there is not because their action's. Most home less people today are on the streets are due to the fact of suddend and unexpected changes whether in the economy, job loss, medical problems, or even the goverment not complying to pay what is due to someone. This can happen to YOU and by murphy's law don't take this statement lightly.

This poem really relates to my family and I. My uncle was very wealthy one week, and the next he didn't have anything, not even a car.

I Looked Up Murphy's Law Once
It spoke of things that tended toward error. The mighty fall. Where do the fallen fall? Is not all death mediocre? I ponder these things with way too much persistence. Great writing here - thought stimulant. - slc
Per Murphy's son, the quote was:
"If there's more than one way to do a job, and one of those ways will result in disaster, then he will do it that way."
