I’m not safe in this silence
Save me from this moment alone
Not a sound but the pounding of my heart
Pounding hard against my chest as if to break out and find its way to you.
Would you slip graciously on my trail of blood only to find that it’s too late?
Your love and loss combined in a feeling far to great
Would this destroy you?
Now that my heart trembles at your feet
Now that my blood pours out for you
Would you lap the red up to your lips and come for the taste this sweet?
There’s an empty hole in my chest
Just for you.
You can crawl in if you’d like
I’ll cradle you until my flesh and bones give way
Until I disappear into you.
Good poem.
