When we first met

We didn't get along

Then we went out

For a summer

Things were rocky and we quit

It took a while for our friendship

But for two years nw

You've been there for me

As a friend, a companion

Someone to talk to, to share with

A friend I could confide in

When there was no one else

You've always been patient

Kind and respectful

Always letting me know your true feelings

I've never felt pressured

Or uncomfortable around you

You are a great friend to me

I wouldn't trade our friendship

For anything in this world

I only hope I've been there for you

As you've been there for me
