Everywhere I look I see the darkness

Anywhere I turn I feel the cold

No where can I go to get away

I don't know where the emptiness is from

Or even when it came to be

All it does is cloak the sun

And hide me from the light

I find shelter in the shadows

And strength in the unseen

But alone and cold is this place

Where I seem to find myself

I'd like to stay in what I know

But I don't know this dark

I want to scream and yell

To find my way out of it

But the void swallows any noise

Muting everything - and nothing

In the dark there is unknown

Unknown tales of pain and horror

I don't want to add my stories

I just want to find my way out

Into the day and sunlight

Even rain is better than this

But the darkness is where I am

No matter what the weather is

I don't know where I am

Or how to get back out
