"Say Hello : Wave Goodbye"
I lay cast awash on the ‘Shore of Life’
I’ve seen all the trouble, happiness, love and all the strife
I lie watching the tide come crashing in
Screaming, crying, laughing the waves come crashing in,
They race to the shore opposite me
The ‘Shore of Immortality’
In their race their screams tell the story of their existence
Each wave is coming to its termination – it has travelled its distance
It has travelled the oceans
But yet it still yearns
For one final journey
One last time to ride with the sea
Yet it knows this can never be
In a final vain attempt it tries like every wave before
To speed – so it may never die - to the shore
But alas so has every wave since the start of time craved this immortality
None has achieved it – none has achieved it for death is the greatest reality
All are finally content with their odyssey
Tired, fatigued and fulfilled they slowly fade
Into the sands and sounds of the sea
There; to rest Forever
Their echoing whispers can still be heard-
On every shore – all over the world
"Say Hello : Wave Goodbye"
I liked this poem very much. Very powerful and well expressed
