Tired Soul

Your skies are rarely blue
Life is sick of you
Sprinkles grey
Darkens hues
Taints your view
Cripples you
Maims what few
Motivations you have left
"I'm hurting Wes"
A cracked jaw will do that to you
Mandibular structure bruised
Can't believe this was done to you
Violence
Pointless argument
Son's father put his knuckles on you
"I'm tired Wes"
An exhausted soul will do that to you
My beautiful fractured muse
Oh how I love you
Silence
Muffled torment
Your eyes scream and you fear no one hears you
"I feel alone Wes"
An indifferent family will do that to you
Misunderstood or confused?
Consequence is the same to you
Absence
Sadness sentence
Your tears are for you yourself and you
The selfish pleasure of wallowing in despair
As primal as baby boy is
These moments you won't share
"I wear a mask Wes"
With me you don't have to
I get you
I have rewritten you more than once
Paraphrased your existence
So you can get a better understanding of yourself
Punctuated your episodes
So your mind can catch its breath
Making sense of you is what I do best
You repay me with inspiration
My heart pours thank yous
Through emotion colored ink
Those are happy tears you shed when you read me
I think
I hope...
"You're always here for me
How can I thank you Wes?"
Keep on being Love
Keep on feeling
Keep on inspiring.

Author's Notes/Comments:

A beautiful friend of mine, mother of a 5 year old son; the father is a sociopath, she realized it long ago so they are not together; he still haunts her life; recently he broke her jaw, and it broke my heart; this poem is for her.
feel free to comment.
