He shows a twinkle in his eyes;
He displays a bright happy smile.
But despair is what he hides inside.
Finally escaping the confinements of his melancholy
dream of dark love,
he decides to take a relieving walk outside,
for the day was beautiful and he needed the light
of the joyous sun rays to shine upon him.
Greeted by cool, friendly breezes
and guided by the sounds of the ruffle of leaves
under his boots,
he is reminded of a past love.
Walking, Walking, Walking
and suddenly,
he hears a melody in the air.
It is the song of birds chirping in the branches
to the rhythm of a familiar melody.
Walking, Walking, Walking
and suddenly,
he catches sight of leaves falling
from the branches of the mighty oak trees,
swaying to the rhythm of the melodic
song of the birds.
Walking, Walking, Walking
and suddenly,
he feels the presence of someone behind him.
He turns to see Lauryn Hill singing to
the melodic rhythm of the birds while
catching a few fallen leaves.
Lauryn Hill-
so graceful,
so calm,
so serene,
outstretches her arms to the heavens
and begins to change the tune of her song.
As each note bellows from her voice,
all the leaves from her hands and the surrounding trees
simutaneously take fallen flight and become enveloped
by the cool, friendly breezes.
In an unexpecting bluster, the leaves rush around him and
Lauryn before they are swept away high into the sky.
He is awed and astonished by this spectacle,
but notices that the mighty oak trees are now
ugly and barren.
"Lauryn, why have the leaves gone?"
He receives no answer.
Instead, Lauryn continues to sing to the
melodic rhythm of the birds while she softly
takes his hand and leads him on a cracked-brick
thoroughway proceeding into a park.
The sun begins to disappear behind a progressing wave of
gray clouds,
and the ugly, barren mighty oak trees lose their
luster and shine in color.
Still holding his hand;
Still singing to the melodic rhythm of the birds,
Lauryn comes to a hault.
"Why have you stopped?"
He receives no answer.
Instead, Lauryn turns to him to reveal streams
of tears rolling down her face.
As her tears hit the ground,
the sky swells with dark gray clouds and releases an
outpouring of rain.
He wants to run and take cover, but can't because
he is held in place by Lauryn's intertwined hand,
Lauyrn's melodic singing,
and Lauryn's crying.
He doesn't quite understand why she is crying
and why they're standing in drenching rain.
But soon enough, he begins to comprehend matters when
he looks high into the branches of an adjacent
mighty oak tree to see two birds sheltering
each other from the rain with their wings.
Reminded of past love and an unfulfilled desire,
he begins to cry,
cry,
cry,(UNFINISHED!!!!)
Jamar, finish the damn poem man!! That was good! Love you, miss you, bye!
