Sweet leaf incinerates
Crystal specks of wonderment
explode in my cranium
flatten my cortex
expanding peace aura
aurora waves lap at my eyes
heart pierced with rainbows
quadruple legs burst forth
flight capability achieved
two, four, six, eight
multiply the frames of light
we are the flies
buzzing around your head
we are the flies
feasting on the dead
take to the skies
and leave it all behind
oh, only for a while
ride on wings of lies
they disregard our lives
seconds to their hours
swat us down without hesitation
quick to hate our ways
fly through fields of happiness
they smash the face of nature
laugh as she bleeds black oil
twist her arms to meet your desires
we are the flies
nothing to their might
we are the flies
epic special sight
on wind we ride
as you stick to the ground
rip our wings away
jealous in your sight
chasms open beneath us
solid ground beneath your feet
no fault but our own
we take it in stride
you frown at liberation
with just a breathy sigh.
