Dancers In The Dust

We sat there breathing, and the intake was deep,

And we started to move slowly, almost systematically to the beat.
We swept the floor with our feet, and created a gust,
And you threw me into the air. I sprouted my arms like an eagle leaving you behind in the dust,
Freeing myself from gravity, as if I couldn't stand being on the ground anymore
But you were behind me, and pulling me back down to the floor.
You held your hands around my body with a grip so tight,
And I tried to escape to the air as the sun escapes from the night,
And you spun me around and bent down your knee, again there was a gust.
You put me on your thigh, raised my head to the sky and allowed me to be cradled by the dust.

very nice

Like the flow, and the meaning too.

And the fact that you were inspired by a painting. I too have been by other artist.

Very cool!

It is a poem full of life

I could almost see and feel the action.

Peace
