What I have learned
What I have learned,
As days go by,
And as one more birthday passes me by,
Today mom told me something’s I never knew,
And I ask myself why,
But you know I am glad mom is the one to tell me the news,
I was about 2 when my health started changeing,
But you know I think mom knew before then,
My father left,
I don’t really remember him leaving,
And in my heart I think that is the best thing,
But there are a lot of things I do remember,
Him not being there in any way,
When he could have been,
So many tests,
So many surgeries,
And before the doctors could do anything,
That they knew was needed,
They needed my father’s name on a piece of paper,
My mom knew she was in the fight of her life,
She knew that was not going to happen,
Days in court,
Just for a name on a piece of paper,
And she did it all for me,
Never got that name on the piece of paper,
And like I said before mom knew that was not going to happen,
But she did get an ok so I could get the help I needed,
Mom I love you so much,
You are an angel of mine,
I would not be where I am without you,
It is amazing what I learn as the days pass me by.
