I Am In The Band

The sound of the guitar,
The beat of the drums,
The rhythm of the bass,
And the flurry of the keys,
I was in my element.

I swayed,
I jumped,
I dance around,
I was in the zone.

My voice erupted from my mouth.
I sang with all my heart.
I let the music take me,
To where ever it wanted me to go.
I was in the music.

But, that all changed.
The guitar became a screech,
The drums became a mess,
There was no bass,
And the keys stopped playing.
I was alone.

My guitarist left.
My drummer was just a ghost.
My bassist was too far-gone.
My pianist joined another band.
I was lost.

One single wail from the guitar,
And I was found.
I looked to my savior.
I was in love.

A new band formed,
A new guitarist,
A new drummer,
A new bassist,
And a new pianist,
I was back on track.

I was in my element.
I was in the zone.
I was in the music.
I was alone.
I was lost.
I was found.
I was in love.
I was back on track.
I am in the band.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I wrote this in Math when I was bored after a test. It's based off of a story of mine. Personally, I like it, but don't love it.
