Eternal Emotion

That ring on your finger

Does it prove my love?

Can it express my feelings?

Is one ring enough?

I hope you'd answer,

"You didn't need the first.

I saw the love in you

After '...for better or worse'."

Weddings are priceless

Lasting through the years

Exchanging the "I do's"

Conquering all fears

Wait, can I write about weddings

I've never been married before

So how do I know what is felt

Carrying the bride through the door

It's simple, I don't

But I can write and inspire

And describe the warmth

As you both lay by the fire

The same warmth you feel

Even with cold skies

When you both stop a second

And gaze into each other's eyes

I could write about the blessedness

As you walk down the isle

Though the last wedding I attended

Was when I was a child

So can i TRULY know

What feelings you undertake?

Have I been wrong in this poem?

Are all these fantastic feelings fake?

No, these feelings are real

And when I get wed

I'll finally know the feelings

Of that first night in bed.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Heh, just wanted a marriage poem, I guess.  Never been married, though, I'm only 21 :o)
