She went to town in a gray-green gown
For caviar and wine
I saw her arrive at a quarter to five
She didn't leave till nine.
When she went it was with a gent
Who wore a hat and tails
They boarded a hansom and went to dance some
At a town just west of the dells.
They started along with a laugh and a song
And talk of the dancin' they'd do
The Charleston and rag if they could hurry this nag
They called an over sized shoe.
When the horse had arrived there was no one alive
The gent, the driver or she
In fact it is known that the horse was alone
Not even a carriage to see.
Now this is a pleasant puzzler. LOL I like it a lot. Makes me wonder what the motivation was.
