I almost wish I weren’t human

For we humans have no adequate way

Of saying thanks the way you deserve.

You have given and do give

So very much to my soul

So very much more

Than I could ever thank you for.

I love you seems so very trite

To the way I feel for you

But its intensity is something

I’ve never felt before.

And as I grope for proper words

I find I’m at a loss

For the proper meanings

That will shore

The feelings that will dwell

Within me evermore.
