A warbler fluttered close to me recently
I heard it more than saw it
For it stayed in the undergrowth.
I stayed quiet not wanting to
Give it reason to fly.
I dare not let my elation
At its being there be uttered
For fear it would not return.
After all, a moment in the sound of its song
Is worth a lifetime without it
And we should keep such moments
As long as we can,
Shouldn't we?
I looked for this last night and didn't see it. I love the way you paint a word picture that reminds me of Robert Frost's work. Thanks for sharing.

We certainly should. This is so sweet and serene....even I can here your warbler.
