My heart weeps in this waking hour
for i know the time is near.
I have to release you to yourself

Into your eyes i lost myself,
never wanting to be found.
There i met the woman & little girl,
twas there my heart was bound.
In your arms i felt the love,
your hold.. a woman's touch.
In my arms i felt your fear,
little girl.. the pain so much.
You'll never know the pain i feel,
the emptiness.. the fear.
The soul who's wings are smaller now,
the soul who sheds this tear.
You will always mean the world to me,
a world never to be the same.
But i have a small comfort in my heart,
i have your perpetual flame.

I pray the Lord to keep you safe,
to protect your every step.
Now with closed eyes and open mind,
outstretched arms reach for the sky.
