My Grandma’s Birds

My grandma keeps her birds in cages. When you are in her house you can wake up because of the sound of the singing birds. My grandma wakes up by this sound too and the first thing she does is giving the birds some water and food. Whether she’s sick, whether it is raining or maybe snowing outside; she cares first for her birds, making them able to stay inside home. The birds are now warmer and safer so they don’t get sick at all. She seems to have at least four or five different birds at the same time, and even more sometimes. Singing birds are her favorite kind of birds. Sometimes when she has the opportunity, she goes to another towns to get different kind of birds. I did go one day with her, seeking for a bird that sings. I was amazed by her smile and her happiness reflected in her eyes behind those glasses. Each store we visited had one or two in which my grandma was interested. Unfortunately, my grandfather had to remind her that they had not a lot of money by then. Otherwise, I think she would continue to see more and more different birds. I remember some of the ones she had at that time. Most of them were really different. Each one has different feathers, different colors and singing. One I remember was yellow with shades of blue and a long feather behind, it had a lovely singing it could make you just sit and relax. My grandma used to have another things she liked to do, like cooking and taking care of her plants. Yet she always wakes up with a sense of wellbeing because of the songs her birds make. Mostly in the morning, when the sunsets and people start to wake up in order to work, you can find my grandma singing too with her birds. Whether she had had a bad day or even if she was just sad, hearing them will always make her day. Now that I can think of it, maybe it was the reason why she was always smiling. But although she was very happy with her birds, sometimes some birds escaped from the cage when she was about to give them food. She kept talking about that sometimes the whole week and why that bird was so special to her. Even when she has had a lot of different kind of birds, I know she has a special memory of each one, for each bird sings his own song if you are willing to hear.
