“Mistake”
Dark days and lonely nights were all too familiar to me!
Countless moments of loneliness I remember vividly!
Destined to be alone was one of my most common thoughts!
Resolution to my misery was just a fantasy sought!
As complicated a person I am you’d think I’d welcome companionship with open arms.
Anyone courageous enough to come knocking at my door should have been held captive, and not by my “irresistible charms”.
Yes, I have been hurt, and hurt a few in my day.
I am still seeking love contrary to what I say.
Sometimes people can see in you what is oblivious to your own mind.
Often what you’re looking for in someone else is a self-possessed trait reflected in the person you try soo hard to find!
I have prayed to God several times to send me someone of my speed.
My prayers were recently answered, yes God took mercy on my plead.
I took the gift for granted and now it’s gone!
I search for reasons to justify my lack of appreciation, and I find none!
The lord works in mysterious ways that’s for sure!
My lesson was certainly learned, I just fear the amount of un-fulfilled nights I must again endure!
As much as I love myself…somehow that’s not enough!
I shouldn’t have been afraid to embrace my gift; now trying to escape the memory will be tough!
Please be careful of what you pray for because God is always listening, and you just may luck up and get it!
God has made a pair of shoes for every one of his children…it’s up to us to make sure they fit!
In conclusion I ask are you on the verge of making a similar mistake?
God is taking inventory, what will become of you if surpass a blessing that you were instructed to take?
