Rage Against the Machine

Folder:
Society

The days of dictators are allegedly over,
but the leaders in this country still
expect us to obey their commands
and figuratively bow
down to their supremacy.

Our superiors act like we are inferior;
they are tyrants treating us
as if we are second-class citizens
not up to their standards
for being contributive members of society.

They "supervise" our work
but they don't even know how
to move the gears
and pull the levers
to run this appartus.

They don't realize
that we control the machine,
we turn the wheels,
we push the buttons
that set everything in motion.

And when we all have had enough,
we can stop the mechanism
from functioning,
halt the production
of the pseudo-progress.

We can bring the industrialized world
to a standstill by just protesting,
by objecting to continue operations
and not allowing them
to profit from our labor.
