Whatever Happened?

Folder:
Society

Society is obsessed

with sensualized content.

Disturbing images

clutter our television screens.

Distorted information is reported by the media,

distracting our minds from the truth.

Discrimination still permeates our culture,

even with all the lives lost to destroy it.

Hate abounds even within the same race.

Ignorance is the universal practice;

no one cares about anyone but themselves.

Terrorism lives inside our own walls;

violence is a constant horror.

Greed has poisoned our souls.

We treat our possessions

better than our neighbors.

We found the right destination but

we lost our way during the decades,

further and further from the right direction.

Whatever happened to love,

to equality, to compassion,

to common decency?

Whatever happened to humanity?

We can still change

the course of the world.
