Death,
the unwanted visitor
lingers past his welcome.
He sulks in the hallway
and stalks his next victim
on the hospice floor.
He knocks on the door,
bringing disease as if it is
a housewarming gift.
So grim are his features
as are his measures
as he swings his reaper.
He gathers the chaff
from amongst the grain,
burning skin until it is ashes.
