I’m speechless,
at a loss for words
in the presence of your awe.
Your voice is a thunderous echo,
the earth obeys your commands.
You stirred the clouds to spill the rain
and ordered winds to change direction
with a single word.
You existed before every constellation;
the galaxies have your fingerprints.
You poured the ocean into their basins,
and designated the dirt to its place.
You awoke the sun from its slumber
and told the moon when to shine.
How can I possibly complain
about such triviality
as my insignificant life
when I compare it to your grandeur?
When everything falls apart
you still have my heart
because you formed me
in your bare hands.
You stitched together
every man and creature
at conception
and you know when
they will breathe their last.
Who am I to second-guess
your purposes when
you authored everything?
I speak of things beyond my grasp;
I think I know it all,
but I cannot fathom you at all.
I’m speechless,
at a loss for words
in the presence of your awe.

I’m speechless…
at a loss for words
in the presence of your awe.
Your voice is a thunderous echo;
the earth obeys your commands.
You existed before every constellation;
the galaxies have your fingerprints.
You poured the ocean into their basins
and designated the dirt to its place.
You awake the sun from its slumber
and tell the moon when to shine.
You stir the clouds to spill the rain
and order the winds to change direction
with a single word.
How can I possibly complain
about such triviality
as my insignificant life
when I compare it to your grandeur?
When everything falls apart,
you still have my heart
because you formed me
in your bare hands.
You stitched together

and you know when
they will breathe their last.
Who am I to second-guess

I’m speechless,
at a loss for words
in the presence of your awe.
