I am hard-boiled,

firmly established

in my beliefs.



My yolk is contained,

nothing deviled

can penetrate my core.



Even when I am poached,

I will not boil over

and turn rotten.



I am not over-easy

nor prone to softening

at the slightest beat.



My countenance is

always sunny-side up,

constantly looking above.
