Learning from the Past When you’ve become as blackened as I have,
you try to hide from the light
because it will reveal you for who you are.
But the light is the best place to be
for once your character is made known
you can begin to undo your past mistakes.
The light will open your eyes to what you’ve done
and in so doing, will allow you to rub them clean
and start anew in your illuminated understanding.
