Oh God, you are
our only source of energy!
You are always available
when we’re running low on
the radiance that makes us yours.
Your supply does not diminish
with the changing seasons;
Your work with us is not finished
until we’ve depleted our reasons
for living, for giving others
the vitality that arises from
Your Vitamin D(ivinity).
You are forever our constant:
the light when we’re bleak,
the might when we’re weak.
You are the power outlet
when life’s demands
exhaust our battery charge,
when the barrage of daily stress
makes it hard to even stand.
You are the force
that keeps us moving,
keeps us improving
our quality of life,
removing any deficiencies
of joy and peace.
You are the sunshine
that beckons the day;
You are the most divine~
the reviving light rays.
Our worlds should revolve
around only You,
because you are
the center of the universe.
We should evolve everyday
because you make us
new creations
when your light fills us
since the breaking of the dawn,
with morning’s final yawn.
You light our paths
even when the world
is in darkness:
when the enemy has hurled
every last temptation at us
and you have tested
our reliance on You,
we are still beautifully blessed.
Your sunbeams are meant to
be harnessed in our hearts
so we can be a light to others
and never depart
from Your perfect will for us.
We walk through life
with the sunburn of salvation;
our hearts burn for You.
Our skin has a heavenly glow
that only Your rays bestow,
but You also screen us
from the charring of pain
because your love rains.
Our hearts would freeze
without You shining on us.
So we stay on our knees
all the day through,
remembering your Son’s sacrifice
paid the dues
for our sinful natures,
since our grand departure
from the blinding light
of your infinite love for us.
You restore us daily,
filling us with light
when night’s influence
has faded away
and the gray turns to day.
We pray each daybreak
that our circumstances won’t shake
our devotion to You.
For even in the wake of disaster,
You shine though!

Hi... by some coincidence, I had just posted a sonnet, right before you posted this, with a similar tribute to the sun. Much enjoyed your version. Thanks for sharing.
