Irreconcilable Differences

why couples divorce
for Irreconcilable differences.
It sounded like
it should have been something
resolved before marriage.
But now I understand:
I can see how you could be
blindsided by disparity.
I had an idea going in
but was left dumbstruck
by the bitter reality.
Neither do I! In most places
Neither do I! In most places it also seems legal to undergo prenuptial counselling and induction sessions which should rule out those differences even before enter into that legally binding contract. And then you have the visa-hunting sort of arrangement. It's a wonder how people of all self-identities are still wanting in. A bitter reality and puzzlement indeed
