and we complain about petty things.
How embarrassing to be an American
who is focused on selfish things.
It's all so trivial:
you hurt me and now I hate you.
Have you turned on the news recently
and seen anyone showing love to another?
It seems so rare these days
where we all think it's more important
to voice our opinions
than to lend a helping hand?
There are people who have nothing
and we are worrying about superficial things.
We should all take a look in the mirror
and turn from our selfish ways.
We can make the world a better place
if we choose to look outside ourselves.
