I sought life apart from you.
I looked for happiness
in people that would
only disappoint me.
So I come to my knees
my face covered in tears
at the realization
only you can bring true joy.
I don't want you to be a stranger;
I want to know you
like you know me.
I want to recognize your face
like the palm of my hand.
I put my trust in you alone
because only you can
give me complete peace.
