All Rivers Flowed......
When America, land of the free
rumbled the Iraqi desert
with salvos from Tomahawks
When England, land of the rose
sprinkled millitary fire
and tank caterpillar tracks
across the oil-rich desert country
the Great Tigris and Euphrates flowed with blood and tears
the Great Jordan too flowed with blood and tears
the Great Nile too flowed with blood and tears
All rivers flowed...
We too flowed
Tears flowed
from every corner of the globe, we wept
as if our kinship, a cord of blood relation
was severed by the sword of red hail.
Strikingand glarring: yet,
with some blatant metaphors -
defining humanity's, sometimes,
senseless conflict and devastation
of our humaneness...
Disturbing; but real imagery.
A bold comment of the tearful
times we live in as human beings
