I wake and stretch the stiff sleep
Out of my spine paralized
And I greet thee dawn
With a twitch of the eye
And a wiggle of the whiskers
And as I seem my prey
Set safely in the mousetrap
I do not notice anything
But the little cube of cheddar cheese
Placed to trick a poor old eye
Until Jack has sprung out of the box
TO show off his rodential face
And as I run I never gain a pace
Trapped inside a hampster wheel
Dashed like pepper nowhere fast
So they can all point fingers and giggles
