Not: Art as an Answer to the Unaskable Question

Jackson Pollock once said, "I am not Jackson Pollock." Denial of identity is self-expression, art. To paint an abstract on the floor with enamel as Pollock did so many times is to say, "I am anything but the name I carry on my drivers' license." After years of drawing, painting, writing, and studying, I've found art to be self-expression, perception, the answers to all unaskable questions, to every question we've found beyond words. Art, although is the denial of identity, is in turn the pronunciation, the announcement of Self as of Now, drawing out all possibilities from a square to a cube, a triangle to a pyramid, a circle to a sphere of infinite radium. Art is the ration of infinity to zero, to take a blank page, canvas, roll of film, etc. and say, "The possibilities are endless!" Art is the beauty of turning the normal to the abnormal, the negative to the positive. Art is the beauty of irony, irrationality, emotion, and existence. Art is, not only to say, "I am not Jackson Pollock," but to say in turn, "I am everything and anything but."
