The teacher mumbles on
Into a spiderweb of words
That float and dense the air
I'll never understand lessons
The web but falls
From the bed canopy of trees
And words melt down and blend
As dreams crust around my eyes
Like cracker crumbs
That stick to my lips after the snack
Sleeping way the class lectures
I'm but a little mouse
Devoured by the ether owl
That gives me many dreams
Where I'll be slow and safe
The rude school bell rings sullen now
To break the steady breath
