Doctor's Orders

Form a single line,

Cause not a fuss for everything's fine.

Hold tight to the little white cup,

Lest the pills slip out when tilted up.

Now open your mouth for me,

Good girl, you took your medicine properly.

Now off to bed you go,

No nightmares for you I know,

For the Elavil and Trazedon will tuck you in.

They'll keep away the knowledge of when,

In the morning you'll stand in that line once more,

To swallow the dose of reality you're living for.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Addiction doesn't always start on the street corners or bars. We are a generation fighting the highs our trusted doctors can now give us.
