O the diseased river!
Where is your power?
Where is your glory,
That we used to see?
Are you destroying yourself,
Like a machine that can terminate itself?
Or it’s the humans’ inattention,
That has caused this devastation.
I can’t look at you river,
You were youthful like a young girl earlier,
Now so lean have you turned into,
As if AIDS in you has made a home lethal so!
Like the flow of time,
And the passing airstream’s rhyme,
Civilisation moves on blindly,
Alas! None for you cares to bewail truly!
Who will save you ‘poor river’?
I gravely wonder,
When will you move like a snake once more?
Will I ever be there to witness that scene therefore?
Humans strictly are to blame for the diseases of that river....
If the river could have, I bet it would have fuoght them............ insightful write though. Men and women should read this and alter their selfish poller's ways. Sincerely, Melissa
Yes
Yes my dear respected poetess, we, the humans, are destroying nature day by day. Thank you so much for your comment. :)
