A Smart Dog after the Third World War [? - ?]

Another nuclear bomb,

Has destroyed the dog’s home by falling from,

The mute sky,

Auspiciously it doesn’t die.

Eventually it seems that the huge birds,

Have gone back to the nests following the words,

And after dropping huge eggs,

It’s time the dog dragged its legs.

From a big bunker nearly,

The dog steps upward fearfully,

When it reaches the surface,

Sees something it wasn’t ready to face.

Everything has turned into coal,

There’s nothing nor even a living soul,

Which birds have such big eggs, it thinks?

That have burnt the earth within blinks!

Now the dog wonders,

Is it a blessing or a curse?

That it’s still alive and thinks about its tail sadly,

Which like those huge eggs seems unnecessary!

Author's Notes/Comments:

In the 5th line, 'huge birds' indicates 'planes'.
