AT THE ALTAR OF SACRIFICE

It was before time,

Prior to Human life,

When things were not,

And nothing was known.

He laid him beside his throne,

And set him at the altar,

Four eyes-studded beasts stare,

Before twelve times two elders,

He assumed a status below his,

And made himself a lamb,

Of flesh, blood and bone,

He opened and read the scroll,

And accepted the Text therein,

Slain, he laid flat,

Drained, he fell flat

Stained, the throne turned red,

As Father slew the Son

At the Altar of Sacrifice.

I was impressed with your "Judas" and equaly with this one. Your works remind me of an "internet poet" (he himself coined that phrase)whom I enjoy. With you and he there is a comonality, your writing (only what i have read so far) of historical and religous facts is not at all just facts retold but of beautiful stories written with much originality and grace. One might not even share your exact belief system to enjoy and appreciate your words. There is much any poet could learn from this approach. Thanks for sharing your work. Rae
